BLACKPINK has added another historic benchmark to its already dominant streaming legacy. “Pink Venom,” the explosive 2022 lead single from Born Pink, has officially surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify, becoming the group’s third track to cross the platform’s billion-stream threshold.
That milestone now gives BLACKPINK the outright record for the most songs by any girl group to reach 1 billion Spotify streams, pushing them past Fifth Harmony.
Originally released on August 19, 2022, “Pink Venom” arrived as the first major statement of the Born Pink era and immediately delivered commercially. The track debuted atop the Billboard Global 200 for two consecutive weeks, making BLACKPINK the first girl group ever to hit No. 1 on the chart. In the United States, it reached No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100, while also peaking at No. 22 in the UK and becoming the first song by a K-pop group to top Australia’s singles chart.
Its impact extended well beyond audio platforms. Directed by Seo Hyun-seung, the “Pink Venom” music video drew 90.4 million views within its first 24 hours on YouTube, securing the biggest music video debut of 2022 and one of the platform’s largest openings ever. That rollout also fueled landmark live moments, including BLACKPINK’s 2022 MTV Video Music Awards performance — a historic first for a Korean girl group.
The timing is especially notable given BLACKPINK’s renewed momentum in 2026. Earlier this year, the quartet returned with Deadline, their first major project since Born Pink, which debuted at No. 1 in South Korea with 1.75 million copies sold in under two days. Lead single “Jump” also opened atop the Billboard Global 200.
