BTS’ long-awaited return to the global stage has triggered one of the most intense ticketing rushes the music industry has seen in years. As presales and general sales rolled out for the ARIRANG World Tour, fans across continents reported virtual queues stretching into the hundreds of thousands, with some screenshots showing nearly 800,000 people waiting ahead of them. In several markets, queues briefly surpassed one million users.

The tour marks BTS’ first full-group world tour since their military hiatus and supports their upcoming studio album, Arirang, due March 20, 2026. Anticipation has been building steadily since BIGHIT MUSIC confirmed the tour earlier this month. It opens with three stadium shows in Goyang, South Korea, from April 9 to April 12, before expanding into an extensive run across Asia, Europe, North America, and Latin America, with dates stretching into early 2027.

Presales, led by the ARMY Membership program via Weverse, quickly became a test of patience and preparation. Access required advance registration, matching account details across platforms, and valid membership numbers. Even with those safeguards in place, many fans waited for hours without securing tickets. General sales, which followed one to two days later in most territories, proved even more competitive, as thousands who missed presales re-entered the race at once.

Tickets for several dates sold out almost instantly, with multiple shows selling out in less than an hour. In response to overwhelming demand, additional dates have already been added in select cities, including Tampa, with more expected.

Despite the frustration, the scale of the queues reflects BTS’ enduring cultural and commercial power. The group has not toured together since 2019.
