JENNIE’s agency, Odd Atelier (OA Entertainment), has issued a strong legal warning against individuals spreading defamatory content about the BLACKPINK star. In an official statement released on August 18, the company confirmed it is pursuing both civil and criminal action against those responsible for malicious online activity and made clear that there will be no settlements or leniency.
The notice states that OA Entertainment has identified “ongoing misconduct” across online communities and social media platforms, including the spread of baseless defamatory statements, false information, manipulated photos and videos, and content infringing on JENNIE’s privacy and personal rights.

“OA Entertainment recognizes these infringements on the artist’s rights and interests as a severe matter,” the company wrote. Working alongside legal counsel, the agency said it is continuously monitoring online platforms, collecting evidence, and preparing civil and criminal complaints against serious violations.
The statement specifically highlights content involving malicious editing or manipulation of JENNIE’s physical appearance, repeated posting or redistribution of targeted photos and videos, and attaching insulting language or fabricated claims to those materials. OA stressed that legal action will vary depending on the severity of each case but emphasized one point without ambiguity: “There will be no settlement or leniency under any circumstances during this process.”
The agency also thanked fans who have previously submitted reports, saying their assistance has been instrumental in verifying evidence and protecting the artist’s rights. OA encouraged supporters to continue reporting harmful posts by emailing protect@oddatelier.net with the author’s account information, post URL, date, screenshots or videos, and any other relevant evidence.
The legal notice arrives during one of the busiest stretches of JENNIE’s solo career. Over the past three months, she completed an acclaimed international festival run that included headline-making performances at Governors Ball in New York, Roskilde Festival in Denmark, Open’er Festival in Poland, Mad Cool Festival in Spain, Lollapalooza, and Summer Sonic 2026 in Japan.
Her appearances doubled as the launchpad for a new musical era. During the tour, JENNIE debuted unreleased songs including “Less Than a Lover,” “Lock It Down,” “Sweet Tooth,” “Fallen Angel,” and “Heaven” before officially releasing “Less Than a Lover” on July 24. The self-written and self-composed single became one of her biggest solo successes, debuting with 2.261 million Spotify streams, reaching No. 1 on iTunes in at least 27 countries, climbing to No. 2 on Melon’s Hot 100, topping YouTube’s Worldwide Trending Music Videos chart, and earning the biggest 24-hour YouTube debut by a K-pop soloist in 2026 with 5.7 million views.
Her festival finale at Summer Sonic’s 25th anniversary edition proved especially memorable. JENNIE headlined both the Tokyo and Osaka editions, delivering nearly hour-long sets built around tracks from Ruby, fan favorites, and unreleased music. Despite battling microphone issues, extreme heat, and wardrobe malfunctions during the Osaka performance, she continued the show, briefly borrowing a dancer’s top before emotionally thanking fans at the end of what she described as her final festival performance of the season.
Hours later, JENNIE reflected on the experience through an emotional Instagram post, thanking her crew, dancers, band, staff, directors, and fans for supporting her throughout the journey.
