MONSTA X is officially gearing up for its next Korean comeback. On August 6, the group unveiled its upcoming EP The Phase, confirming that the project will be released on September 4, 2026, at 1 p.m. KST, while also dropping a mysterious first teaser that immediately sparked excitement among fans.
The announcement arrived alongside a 19-second concept video built around striking black-and-white imagery. Throughout the clip, glowing particles swirl across a dark backdrop before gradually forming abstract silhouettes that resemble the six members, creating an atmospheric introduction to the group’s next era without revealing any music or track details.
The Phase will mark MONSTA X’s first Korean project since completing promotions for their English-language album Unfold earlier this year. Released on April 3 through Intertwine, the record showcased another side of the veteran K-pop act with the singles “Baby Blue,” “Growing Pains,” and “Heal.” The project debuted at No. 17 on South Korea’s Circle Album Chart with 20,396 first-week sales while reaching No. 41 on the Billboard 200 and No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart.
The era also produced one of the group’s strongest recent radio performances in the United States. Lead single “Heal” climbed to No. 33 on Billboard’s Mainstream Top 40 chart, remaining on the ranking for four consecutive weeks and reinforcing MONSTA X’s continued crossover appeal.
Although Starship Entertainment has yet to reveal the EP’s concept, tracklist or lead single, the teaser suggests a darker, cinematic aesthetic that contrasts with the polished visuals associated with Unfold.
