Melanie Martinez has clarified the status of ELYSIUM after fans expected an album announcement during the final show of her Hades: The Sacrifice Tour in Manchester on September 12. Rather than revealing the release of her long-awaited companion album, Martinez announced a new tour for next year, leaving fans wondering how much longer they will have to wait for ELYSIUM.
Hours after the Manchester show, Melanie Martinez addressed the speculation directly in the comments of the official tour announcement on Instagram. When a fan suggested that the album might not arrive before 2027, the singer responded, “nope still has to get mixed and mastered, and there’s alot of other things that need to come together when releasing an album. Everything always in divine timing. Never good to rush anything.”

While ELYSIUM appears to be approaching its final stages, Melanie Martinez confirmed that the music still needs to be mixed and mastered before it can be released, alongside the other logistical and creative work required to launch a full album.
The update comes after a summer of changes surrounding the project. In an August 15 interview with V Magazine, Martinez revealed that ELYSIUM was already close to completion but was still being refined. She said she had replaced three songs and was working on replacing another, meaning the tracklist was still evolving before the album could be considered finished.
ELYSIUM is intended to serve as the utopian counterpart to Hades, moving away from the darker themes of its predecessor and toward ideas of hope, healing, nature, love and human connection. Melanie Martinez has described the sound as “light and sweet and airy,” calling the project “like a breath of fresh air.”
The album’s timeline has also unfolded alongside a demanding touring schedule. Martinez returned to Europe on September 9 after completing the North American leg of Hades: The Sacrifice, which concluded at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum on August 14. The European run included Amsterdam, London and Manchester, although several previously announced dates were canceled after Martinez explained in July that circumstances outside her control had forced changes to the schedule.
Just days before the European shows began, Martinez also revealed that she had broken a bone in her foot after sitting down with her leg tucked underneath her. Despite wearing a medical boot, she continued with the performances.
