Shakira and Burna Boy’s “Dai Dai” has officially joined YouTube’s billion-views club, becoming the first music video released in 2026 to reach the milestone. The achievement also puts Shakira in a rare tier of female artists, as she now has 10 music videos with more than 1 billion views on the platform.
Released on May 15, “Dai Dai” has reached the milestone less than four months after its debut, adding another major streaming achievement to the FIFA World Cup anthem. The collaboration between Shakira and Burna Boy served as the official song for the 2026 tournament, held across the United States, Mexico and Canada, and its football-focused lyrics reference legends and modern stars including Pelé, Diego Maradona, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Mohamed Salah.

The billion-view mark makes “Dai Dai” the first 2026 music video to cross 1 billion views on YouTube. Its rapid rise also gives Shakira a milestone that only a handful of female artists have reached.
With 10 billion-view music videos, Shakira becomes the second Latina in YouTube history to reach double digits, joining Karol G, who also has 10 videos above the mark. The pair are part of an elite group that includes BLACKPINK, with 10, and Rihanna, with 13. Shakira is therefore one of only four female acts in YouTube history to have at least 10 music videos surpass 1 billion views.
Shakira’s 10-video club spans multiple eras of her career. The list includes “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),” “Chantaje,” “La Bicicleta,” “Hips Don’t Lie,” “Can’t Remember to Forget You,” “La La La,” “TQG,” “Perro Fiel,” “Waka Waka (Esto es Africa)” and now “Dai Dai.”
Her catalog remains led by “Waka Waka,” which has accumulated approximately 4.7 billion views, making it one of the most-watched music videos ever released by a female artist. “Chantaje,” her collaboration with Maluma, follows with around 3.2 billion views, while several other videos in her billion-view collection have become defining moments in her international career.
“Dai Dai” has also performed strongly outside YouTube. The song became the fourth FIFA World Cup track to enter the Billboard Hot 100 and achieved the highest chart position for an official FIFA World Cup song in UK chart history. Additionally, “Dai Dai” is the longest-running No. 1 hit on Spotify in 2026 so far.
