Camila Cabello has released her fourth studio album, C,XOXO, and, as expected, it marks a significant departure from her previous works—Camila, Romance, and Familia. The album showcases a bold reinvention, delving into genres ranging from hyperpop to hip-hop. Notably, tracks like “koshi xoxo” and “pink xoxo” are not actual songs. Additionally, “Uuugly” features only Drake, with Camila having no verses on it.
Camila began teasing the new album in February, signaling the start of a new era by dyeing her hair. In an Instagram post, she described C,XOXO as: “FEMININITY, POWER, A COMING OF AGE STORY – GIRLHOOD TO WOMANHOOD, MIAMI = CARIBBEAN TOKYO, SIGNED BY C (LYRICS BY C).” The lead single, “I LUV IT,” was released in March and immediately stunned fans. “He Knows” and “Chanel No. 5” followed as official singles. Discussing the album, Camila noted her inspiration from “Miami’s BMX culture and girl gang vibes.”
Overall, the album may lack consistency, possibly due to an exploration of diverse sounds. C,XOXO includes a total of 14 tracks and features several rappers, including Lil Nas X and Playboi Carti. From “I LUV IT” to “June Gloom”, below is InMusic’s ranking of the album.
