A$AP Rocky is setting the record straight about his long-awaited album Don’t Be Dumb. After multiple delays and months of speculation, the rapper says he’s officially done discussing release dates — and will instead let the music do the talking.
In a new interview with Numéro Magazine, the Harlem native made his stance clear. “To be honest, I don’t want to talk about release dates anymore,” Rocky said. “I’d rather let the music speak for itself. One day, you’ll wake up and see what’s coming up. I was a bit foolish giving dates last time. Today, I want to make it clear. You’ll just have to wait and enjoy the record when it’ll come out.”

The statement follows years of anticipation surrounding Don’t Be Dumb, Rocky’s first album since Testing (2018). Initially announced during Paris Fashion Week in 2024, the project was slated for an August 2025 release — a timeline that has since shifted several times. Fans have been eager for updates as Rocky previewed snippets of new songs and hinted at collaborations with high-profile producers like Pharrell Williams, Metro Boomin, Madlib, and The Alchemist.
Last month, the rapper spoke with ELLE about the reasons behind the repeated delays, admitting that family responsibilities and personal growth took priority over the album rollout. “Life was lifeing,” he said. “We didn’t plan on having children, but when it happens, you gotta adjust and move with it. I gotta be present for my family, because that’s first.”
Despite the setbacks, Rocky has reassured fans that Don’t Be Dumb is complete — and that the wait will be worth it. He’s described the album as his “best work so far,” blending experimental production with sharp lyricism. Tracks like “Highjack” featuring Jessica Pratt, “Ruby Rosary” with J. Cole, and “Pray4DaGang” with KayCyy have already been released, fueling excitement for what’s next.
