A$AP Rocky is entering a new chapter of his life, and fatherhood is clearly at the center of it. In a recent interview with W Magazine, the Harlem rapper reflected on how becoming a parent has reshaped his emotional world, his priorities, and even the way he sees himself. Rocky revealed how deeply his children have changed him.

I find myself way more emotional now that I have kids,” Rocky said. “Before the kids, I was probably a piece of sh-t, you know, cold-hearted. But now, I’m a loving kind of fella. I’ve got a lot of love to give to the world.” The candid admission offers rare insight into an artist who has long balanced vulnerability with bravado. Rocky also joked that he will “pray for” anyone who tries to date his daughter.

These comments align with earlier reflections Rocky has shared about how fatherhood has influenced both his personal life and career. In a previous interview with ELLE, the rapper addressed the repeated delays of his long-awaited fourth studio album, Don’t Be Dumb. While legal matters were part of the equation, Rocky made it clear that family came first. “Life was lifeing,” he explained. “We don’t plan on having children, but when it happens, you gotta adjust and move with it. I gotta be present for my family, because that’s first.

That shift in perspective has defined Rocky’s recent years. Rather than rushing his return, he chose to step back and focus on being fully present at home. Now, that balance appears to be paying off. Rocky has officially confirmed that Don’t Be Dumb will be released on January 16, featuring 17 tracks. In the lead-up, he has unveiled multiple cover artworks and released the project’s lead single, “Punk Rocky.”
