Ariana Grande is giving fans their first apparent glimpse into Petal before the album’s July 31 release. During the June 13 stop of her Eternal Sunshine Tour at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena, concertgoers noticed what appeared to be the beginning of the album’s tracklist projected as part of the pre-show visuals, with “1. kiss me” displayed on screens and curtains before Grande took the stage.
The brief tease immediately sparked speculation across social media, marking the first known song title connected to Grande’s upcoming eighth studio album. While neither Grande nor her team has officially confirmed whether “kiss me” is the opening track, the numbering shown alongside the title strongly suggests fans may have witnessed the start of the Petal tracklist rollout.
Just one week ago, on June 6, Grande launched the Eternal Sunshine Tour in Oakland, her first major headlining trek since 2019. The production features a 24-song setlist spanning her catalog while incorporating visual elements that appear to be slowly introducing the next chapter of her career.
Interest surrounding Petal has surged following the explosive success of its lead single, “hate that i made you love me.” Released earlier this year, the Max Martin-produced track debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Grande’s 10th chart-topper. The achievement also gave her an eighth No. 1 debut, tying Taylor Swift for the most among female artists in the chart’s history.
Streaming numbers have reinforced that momentum. “hate that i made you love me” opened with 8.788 million Spotify streams in its first 24 hours and went on to spend 10 days atop the Daily Global Spotify Chart.
