Ariana Grande has reached another major career milestone. Her new single “hate that i made you love me” debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the pop superstar’s 10th chart-topper and extending one of the most remarkable hit streaks in modern pop music.
The achievement arrives less than two months before the release of her upcoming eighth studio album, Petal, due July 31. With the debut, Grande joins the exclusive group of artists with double-digit No. 1 hits on the Hot 100 and ties for the 10th-most chart leaders in the survey’s history.
“hate that i made you love me” also gives Grande her eighth No. 1 debut on the Hot 100. That figure ties her with Taylor Swift for the most No. 1 debuts among female artists, while Drake remains the overall leader with 10 chart-topping entrances.
The song has quickly emerged as one of the defining pop releases of 2026. Upon its arrival, it generated 8.788 million Spotify streams in its first 24 hours, narrowly edging out several major releases this year and signaling enormous anticipation for Petal. The Max Martin-produced track has since dominated streaming platforms, spending a total of six days atop the Daily Global Spotify Chart.
Notably, Grande’s list of Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits now includes “thank u, next,” “7 rings,” “Stuck With U” with Justin Bieber, “Rain on Me” with Lady Gaga, “positions,” “Save Your Tears” with The Weeknd, “Die for You” with The Weeknd, “yes, and?,” “we can’t be friends (wait for your love),” and now “hate that i made you love me.”
The debut extends another unprecedented record. Since launching her career, the popstar has now seen the lead single from each of her proper studio albums debut within the Hot 100’s top 10. No other artist has maintained such consistency across an entire album catalog at this scale.
The No. 1 arrival also caps a particularly busy period for Grande. On June 6, she officially launched the Eternal Sunshine Tour in Oakland, marking her first major headlining tour since 2019. The opening night featured a 24-song setlist spanning nearly every era of her career.
