Ariana Grande has taken legal action against a group of anonymous hackers accused of stealing unreleased music, private photos, and behind-the-scenes material from members of her inner circle. The lawsuit, filed as the popstar prepares to release her eighth studio album petal, seeks to identify those allegedly responsible and prevent further distribution of the stolen content.
According to the complaint filed on July 27, 2026, in California court, Grande alleges that a group of unidentified individuals carried out a years-long campaign targeting people connected to her creative work, including photographers, producers, and close collaborators. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the hackers are accused of accessing private devices and digital accounts to obtain unreleased recordings, personal images, videos, and footage documenting her artistic process.
The lawsuit names the defendants as anonymous “John Doe” parties, allowing Ariana Grande’s legal team to pursue the identities of those allegedly involved as the case develops. The singer is expected to seek court approval for subpoenas directed at internet service providers, online platforms, and other digital services in an effort to trace digital records, including IP addresses and transaction histories.
