Doechii is bringing the party back to her Swamp Sessions series with a new release, “LOCK JAW | Swamp Session.” The nearly three-minute video captures the Grammy-winning rapper dancing with friends at an intimate, experimental house party, trading elaborate production for a MacBook, colorful lighting and an atmosphere built around spontaneous fun.

Set in a low-fi environment decorated with string lights and party props, the visual sees Doechii moving energetically alongside her friends as the track plays. Rather than presenting a conventional music video, the release feels closer to a glimpse of a private gathering, with the rapper putting movement, experimentation and the chemistry of the room at the center of the experience.

Doechii introduced the video with a playful message explaining how the idea came together. “Sometimes all you need is a MacBook and your girlsss,” she wrote, describing the session as a slumber party at her place. She also acknowledged that this installment takes a more experimental direction, particularly in its approach to dance and the alter ego she has been exploring.

The rapper connected the creative process to her earlier independent days, when she made music and visuals with limited resources. Looking back on those experiences, she described the challenge of creating with very little as part of what made the process enjoyable. The relaxed atmosphere of “LOCK JAW” appears to embrace that same philosophy, allowing the performance to develop without the pressure of a large-scale production.

The release continues the Swamp Sessions series, which has become an outlet for Doechii to explore ideas outside the conventions of a traditional single rollout. Earlier installments have included “BOMBS” and “Catwoman,” with each offering a different perspective on her artistic identity. The format also recalls the creative momentum that surrounded her pre-2024 mixtape era, when weekly freestyles and accompanying visuals gave her room to experiment and build a distinctive voice.

“LOCK JAW” follows October’s surprise release of “BOMBS,” which arrived alongside a striking Swamp Sessions visual and a handwritten statement outlining her ambitions for her upcoming debut studio album. In that message, Doechii discussed her desire to push hip-hop through different genres and sounds while placing Black womanhood at the center of her artistic vision. She also described her commitment to becoming the kind of artist she wished she could have seen growing up.
