Florence + The Machine have officially announced their long-awaited sixth studio album, Everybody Scream, set for release on October 31. The Halloween drop date feels tailor-made for Florence Welch, whose work has always thrived on the edge of the mystical and the otherworldly. The announcement, made on August 19 via Instagram, was paired with striking images of Florence that immediately set the tone: eerie, haunting, and theatrical. “Florence and the Machine. Everybody Scream. The new album. This Halloween,” she wrote, sending fans into a frenzy.
The rollout has been as enigmatic as ever. A teaser video shared earlier this week showed Florence digging a hole in the earth before screaming into it—a surreal and unsettling visual that sparked endless fan theories online. Shortly after, the band’s website refreshed with a glowing golden logo, while new merch revealed the first hints of the project’s aesthetic. Pre-orders for vinyl, CD, cassette, and posters opened immediately, with early details suggesting a 12-track collection, though the official tracklist remains unconfirmed.
Fans also noted recent studio clips of Florence working alongside Mark Bowen, guitarist of post-punk band IDLES, fueling speculation of a collaboration.
