Gracie Abrams is ushering in a new era, and she’s making sure fans feel the anticipation building with her. The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter sparked excitement after sharing a series of Instagram Stories hinting at the progress of her next project. “I cannot wait for you to hear the new music, just know that,” she wrote, before doubling down with two follow-up slides that simply read, “Just. Know.”
Abrams’ tease arrives as momentum around her continues to grow. In a recent conversation with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, she reflected on The Secret of Us, her acclaimed 2024 sophomore album, and opened up about how its creative process is already shaping what comes next. She revealed that two tracks from the project’s orbit—“I Told You Things” and the fan-beloved unreleased song “Death Wish”—have become foundational markers for her upcoming artistic direction. Both songs, she explained, tap into the deeply confessional storytelling that has always defined her writing.
“I Told You Things” remains a standout from The Secret of Us. Meanwhile, “Death Wish,” which she debuted earlier this year at London’s O2 Arena, continues to live exclusively through fan-captured videos online. Before performing it, she told the audience that the song was inspired by a close friend dating “someone who kind of sucked.”
Fans reacted quickly to her latest hints, interpreting her comments as a sign that “GA3” may arrive sooner than expected. “sorry gracie abrams but you are so sick in the head for this,” one fan wrote on X. “GRACIE ABRAMS AND NEW MUSIC IN THE SAME SENTENCE,” another added.
Abrams’ most recent album marked a career-defining leap. Released in June 2024, The Secret of Us debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and topped charts globally. Produced with Aaron Dessner, the album blended pop, folk, and indie elements into her most expansive sound yet. Its tracklist included the viral single “Us,” a collaboration with Taylor Swift, alongside fan favorites “Risk,” “Close to You,” and “I Love You, I’m Sorry.”
