The new release arrives at the height of Taylor Swift’s latest chart reign. Her song “The Fate of Ophelia,” from The Life of a Showgirl, has dominated both the Billboard Hot 100 and the U.K. Singles Chart for three consecutive weeks. The track’s stripped-down version, “The Fate of Ophelia (Alone In My Tower – Acoustic Version),” was released earlier this week as an iTunes exclusive.
“The Fate of Ophelia” marks Swift’s seventh single to spend at least three weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100, joining hits like “Anti-Hero,” “Blank Space,” “Cruel Summer,” and “Shake It Off.” Meanwhile, her latest studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, continues its record-breaking run at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for a third week. Now, she aims for a fourth week atop both the charts.
