Ice Spice is officially back with a new single, and this time she’s tapping into one of the most recognizable anthems of the 2010s. On September 26, the Bronx rapper released “Baddie Baddie” through Capitol Records, a sharp, two-minute track that samples M.I.A.’s 2012 hit “Bad Girls.” The single marks the beginning of Ice Spice’s highly anticipated sophomore era and her first solo release of the year.
Produced by longtime collaborator RiotUSA, “Baddie Baddie” delivers a high-energy anthem built around brash confidence, feminine power, and streetwise flair.

M.I.A.’s “Bad Girls” has long been a cultural touchstone, celebrated for its blend of global beats and defiant attitude. By weaving its DNA into “Baddie Baddie,” Ice Spice starts her new era after the 2024’s debut album Y2K!. Despite spawning several hit singles such as “Think U The Shit (Fart)” and “Gimme a Light,” that record didn’t enjoy strong commercial success. On the Billboard 200, Y2K! peaked at No. 18, moving 28,000 units in its opening week.
Since the release of her debut album, Ice Spice has only appeared on the remix of KATSEYE’s “Gnarly” and, more recently, on “Gyatt,” a collaboration with Latto that shocked fans given their long-standing beef. Now, the Bronx rapper has officially kicked off her new era.
