Kacey Musgraves surprised fans at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night (September 1) by bringing Troye Sivan onstage for the first-ever live performance of their 2020 collaboration “Easy.” The unexpected reunion came during the second night of Musgraves’ two-show MSG stand, giving the long-delayed duet its live debut nearly six years after its release.
Under giant disco balls and dramatic stage lighting, Musgraves and Sivan delivered the bittersweet track together as the sold-out crowd erupted.

Kacey Musgraves appeared in a sparkly black bodysuit and oversized cowboy hat, while Troye Sivan joined her in a plaid shirt, vest and riveted leather pants. The pair circled each other across the stage before leaning into the song’s emotional tension, turning one of the night’s most unexpected moments into a standout highlight of the Middle of Nowhere Tour.
The performance arrives as Kacey Musgraves continues her arena run behind her May 2026 album Middle of Nowhere. The project marked a return to her country roots, incorporating Texas influences, pedal steel, norteño textures and collaborations with artists including Willie Nelson, Billy Strings and Miranda Lambert.
Her current tour brings that aesthetic to life with a distinctive production featuring a circular spinning stage, a motel-trailer entrance, hay scattered across the floor and enormous disco balls featured during “Rhinestoned.” New York also carried an emotional weight for Musgraves, who had been paying tribute to Dolly Parton following the country legend’s death at 80. During the first MSG show, Musgraves performed “9 to 5” and spoke openly about the loss.
For Troye Sivan, the surprise appearance arrived during another important career chapter. He is preparing to release his fourth studio album, She’s the Best, on October 9, with the title track serving as its lead single. The song’s music video stars Nicole Kidman, while the album follows Sivan’s 2023 record Something to Give Each Other and his subsequent Sweat tour with Charli XCX.
