KATSEYE is bringing its story to the big screen. The global girl group has announced KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS, a new documentary film that will premiere in cinemas worldwide beginning August 12, just two days before the release of the group’s third EP, WILD.
Described as a cinematic love letter to fans, KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS will receive a limited theatrical release across multiple countries, with tickets going on sale July 15 through the film’s official website.
According to the official press release, the documentary follows KATSEYE’s evolution from the intense competition of Dream Academy to becoming one of pop’s fastest-rising global acts. The film features never-before-seen footage, exclusive interviews with the members, and fan-submitted videos celebrating the bond between KATSEYE and their dedicated fandom, EYEKONS.
The synopsis describes the project as “a captivating journey into the group’s bold new era while celebrating the fans who helped make it possible.” It continues: “A love letter to the EYEKONS who helped build this movement, KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS reveals why this group’s story is only just beginning.”
Beyond chronicling the group’s achievements, the documentary promises an inside look at the challenges that shaped Sophia, Daniela, Lara, Megan and Yoonchae. Audiences will see the pressure of training, the sacrifices required to pursue a global career, and the breakthrough moments that propelled the group onto international stages.
The project also reunites the creative team behind Netflix’s Pop Star Academy. KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS is produced by Interscope Films and Boardwalk Pictures in partnership with HYBE x Geffen and directed by Nadia Hallgren.
The announcement arrives during one of the busiest periods of KATSEYE’s career. Earlier this summer, the group attracted an estimated 45,000 fans during its Governors Ball performance in New York, according to Live Nation, adding another milestone after drawing roughly 85,000 attendees to its record-breaking Lollapalooza debut.
