The MelOn Music Awards 2025 are set to take place on December 20 at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome. The ceremony will celebrate the biggest achievements in Korean music based on Melon’s powerful data-driven system, combined with expert judging and fan participation. Organized by Melon and Kakao Entertainment, the event will be broadcast domestically via Melon and Wavve, with international streaming available through 1theK, U-Next in Japan, and MagentaTV in selected European territories.
This year’s eligibility period runs from October 31, 2024, to November 19, 2025, capturing a full year of releases that dominated charts, streaming platforms, and global conversations. Leading the nominations are G-Dragon, Jennie, ROSÉ, IVE, and PLAVE, each earning five nods. Close behind are SEVENTEEN, IU, BABYMONSTER, and TXT, all of whom secured multiple nominations across major categories.
Melon has also confirmed the scoring structure for MMA 2025. With the exception of select awards, most categories will be determined by a weighted formula: 60 percent download and streaming data, 20 percent judges’ evaluations, and 20 percent fan votes. The Millions Top 10 Award, which honors albums surpassing one million streams within 24 hours, places even greater emphasis on platform performance, with 80 percent of the score derived from streaming and downloads. Voting for the remaining categories opened on December 5 and closed on December 19, giving fans a two-week window to support their favorite artists.
The Artist of the Year Top 10 winners have already been announced. The list includes aespa, BOYNEXTDOOR, G-Dragon, IVE, Jennie, Lim Young Woong, NCT WISH, PLAVE, RIIZE, and ROSÉ.
International presence is also a key storyline this year. Don Toliver, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, KATSEYE, and Lady Gaga are all nominated for Best Pop Artist.
On the performance side, MMA 2025 promises a massive lineup. Confirmed acts include G-Dragon, Jennie, aespa, IVE, RIIZE, EXO, Jay Park, and Zico, alongside a new generation of breakout groups such as ILLIT, NCT WISH, PLAVE, BOYNEXTDOOR, Hearts2Hearts, ALLDAY PROJECT, KiiiKiii, and IDID.
