When Does Bass Persuades Come Out?
Bass Persuades will be released on Friday, September 18, through Atlantic Records. The album marks Cyrus’ first project with the label after her departure from Columbia Records, where she released her 2025 album Something Beautiful.
The new era has moved considerably faster than a typical major-label album campaign. Miley Cyrus revealed in June 2025 that she had already selected 12 songs for her next album and arranged them in tracklist order on a private Spotify playlist. She has previously explained that she prefers moving quickly between projects rather than spending long periods on album rollouts.
That approach is reflected in Bass Persuades. The popstar said it took less than a year to create the record, allowing the album to develop alongside her life in real time.
What Is Bass Persuades About?
Miley Cyrus has described Bass Persuades as a layered love story influenced by both her relationship with fiancé Maxx Morando and her relationship with herself. The album explores romance, self-love, heartbreak and the emotions that exist between those extremes.
When announcing the project, she described its title as encompassing a “heart full, heartache, every part of life in between.” That idea connects the album’s emotional themes with its more physical, dance-oriented musical direction.
The title track, released September 3, established that sound through pulsing ’80s-inspired synths, a four-on-the-floor rhythm and a prominent bassline.

What Singles Have Been Released?
“Bass Persuades” introduced the album on September 3 alongside its official music video. The single gave Miley Cyrus another significant Billboard milestone when it debuted at No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking her 25th career top-40 entry. It also reached No. 31 on the U.K. singles chart.
“Let’s Get Married” follows on September 17 with its music video.
Why Is This a New Era for Miley Cyrus?
Bass Persuades represents more than another album release. Cyrus has adopted Miley as her primary artistic identity during the campaign, with her social media branding and official website reflecting the change.
The shift came after a series of cryptic red-and-black visuals, including billboards in New York featuring close-up eye imagery and the words “COMING SOON.” On August 31, Cyrus posted an image centered on the word “MILEY,” prompting speculation about a self-titled project or a broader reinvention.
Instead, she revealed Bass Persuades on September 1, establishing the album as the beginning of her Atlantic era.
Will Miley Cyrus Perform Bass Persuades Live?
Cyrus will bring the new album to the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles for two shows on October 16 and 18. Model/Actriz will serve as the opening act.
The performances will mark Cyrus’ first time taking the stage at the Hollywood Bowl, a venue she has described as her favorite place to experience music.
