Miley Cyrus is giving fans another glimpse into the making of Bass Persuades with a new demo edition of the album. Available exclusively through iTunes until 11:59 p.m. ET on September 24, the limited release includes “Aftermath (Demo)” alongside five previously unheard voice notes from Cyrus’ songwriting process.
The popstar announced the release on social media, explaining that she recently rediscovered recordings made while working on Bass Persuades. “Sometimes it’s just mumbles, sometimes a fully realized idea,” Miley Cyrus wrote, describing the voice notes as snapshots of how songs evolved before reaching their finished forms.

Rather than simply offering alternate versions of the album, the Bass Persuades (Demo Edition) focuses on the creative process behind the 10-track project.
Miley Cyrus said some elements from those recordings changed while others remained intact, making the material a document of the album’s development. “I love hearing the evolution of the songwriting,” she added, framing the release as a collection of “findings” from the sessions rather than another conventional deluxe edition.
The move comes just days after Cyrus released two other limited editions of Bass Persuades. On September 22, instrumental and a cappella versions of the album became available exclusively through iTunes, allowing fans to hear all 10 tracks without their standard vocal or instrumental arrangements.
Those releases have arrived during an important opening week for Bass Persuades. The album debuted on September 18 as Cyrus’ 10th studio album, her first project for Atlantic Records after leaving Columbia Records and the first release promoted under the mononym MILEY.
Early estimates have projected approximately 50,000 U.S. units for Bass Persuades in its first week, potentially giving Cyrus another Billboard 200 Top 5 debut. If that projection holds, the album would become her 16th project to reach the chart’s Top 10, following recent releases including Something Beautiful, which opened at No. 4, and Endless Summer Vacation, which debuted at No. 3.
