Miley Cyrus is marking the release of Bass Persuades with a personal reflection on the album and the fast-moving period in which it came together. Shortly after the record arrived, Cyrus described the project as “a special record,” connecting its 10 songs to two decades of her life, career and a newfound sense of peace.
In a social media message shared alongside the album’s release, Miley acknowledged how quickly Bass Persuades came together, writing that “this album happened fast” while adding that speed has defined much of her life for the past 20 years. She connected that pace to her long career and the moment she began pursuing a role that would eventually make Los Angeles her home.

That history is reflected throughout the album. Bass Persuades moves between high-energy dance-pop, romantic pop and more atmospheric material, creating a record that feels both outward-facing and personal.
Bass Persuades represents a new chapter in Miley Cyrus’ career. Released through Atlantic Records, it is her 10th studio album and her first record for the label after leaving Columbia Records. The project is also the first album promoted under the mononym MILEY, continuing the stripped-back presentation she introduced during the rollout.
Cyrus previously described the album as a reflection of her relationship with fiancé Maxx Morando and her growing appreciation for self-love, calling it a love story with a strong romantic thread. The record’s title track arrived as its lead single on September 3 and reached No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100, giving Cyrus her 25th top-40 entry on the chart.
The new era will continue beyond the album release, with Miley Cyrus scheduled to perform her first shows at the Hollywood Bowl on October 16 and 18, with Model/Actriz opening.
