Miley Cyrus is setting the record straight on the future of Hannah Montana. While promoting her new single “Dream as One” for Avatar: Fire and Ash, the Grammy-winning star shut down speculation that Disney might reboot the iconic series without her involvement. Speaking candidly, Cyrus made her stance clear: “I don’t know if there’s a new Hannah — this is the only Hannah.”
Cyrus has long acknowledged the cultural impact of the character she brought to life from 2006 to 2011. As Miley Stewart, she portrayed a regular Tennessee teenager navigating high school life in Malibu while secretly performing as global pop star Hannah Montana, complete with the signature blonde wig and energetic stage persona. The dual role became a global phenomenon, producing four seasons, a hit film, multi-platinum soundtracks, and a generation-defining fan base.
Rather than distancing herself from the series, Cyrus has embraced its legacy in recent years. In a recent GMA interview, she revealed that she is actively developing a 20th-anniversary celebration for the franchise. “A lot of my time right now is being spent on, ‘How can I honor Hannah?’” she said, signaling that any future expansion of the universe will be shaped by her creative direction.
Her comments come during a strong professional run. In September, Cyrus released the deluxe edition of her latest album Something Beautiful. The LP earned widespread acclaim and debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, marking her fifteenth Top 10 record in the U.S. The deluxe version features “Secrets,” a collaboration with Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood, which deepened her connection to classic rock and paid tribute to her father, Billy Ray Cyrus.
