Nicki Minaj has officially joined the chorus of voices reacting to Taylor Swift’s newly released twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl. The rap superstar took to X (formerly Twitter) to post a series of unfiltered reactions to the 12-track project, praising Swift’s writing, storytelling, and collaborations.
Her first shoutout went straight to “Wood,” one of the album’s standout tracks, which Minaj described as an instant favorite.
“Oh Taylor #WOOD was EXACTLY what I needed tonight. Thank you,” she wrote, before quoting several lyrics and joking about their double meanings.

Minaj also spotlighted the highly talked-about line from “Actually Romantic”: “Taylor said ‘I heard you called me boring Barbie when the Coke’s got your brain.’ Why all the SAG’s giving out lashings tonight? Oh wow.”
She didn’t stop there. In her rapid-fire tweets, Minaj called “Cancelled” “diabolical,” praised Swift’s sharp lyricism, and even compared her to a battle rapper: “GO IN FOR THE KILL, TAYLOR. LET’S GO!!!!”
“The fact that Taylor is a battle rapper is sending me.”
Beyond the punchlines, Minaj took a thoughtful turn when reflecting on Swift’s writing style, especially on “Eldest Daughter”:
“The writing is always so intentional & always resonates with the AUTHENTIC lone wolves.”
She also praised Sabrina Carpenter’s feature on the title track, noting how well the rising pop star leaned into the showgirl concept.
“I love how animated Sabrina came in on her verse. She’s fully in character. She gets it.”
At one point, Minaj even mused on astrology, joking about Sagittarius energy while hyping up the album’s bold aesthetic: “Why does every Sagittarius have such an expensive face card? Like…?”
