Nicki Minaj made headlines on Tuesday, January 28, after delivering a politically charged speech at the Trump Accounts Summit in Washington, D.C., where she appeared as a special guest speaker alongside government officials, business leaders, and public figures.
The event took place at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium and was hosted by the U.S. Treasury Department. President Donald Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent served as the summit’s key speakers, using the platform to formally promote “Trump Accounts,” officially known as Section 530A accounts. The initiative, introduced under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act signed into law in July 2025, is designed to provide tax-advantaged savings and retirement accounts aimed at helping children build long-term financial security from birth.
During her appearance, Minaj spoke openly about her support for the president, addressing criticism she has faced for her political stance. “I am probably the president’s number one fan, and that’s not going to change,” she said from the stage. “The hate, or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more.”
She continued by condemning what she described as persistent public attacks against Trump. “We’re not going to let them get away with bullying him and the smear campaigns — it’s not going to work,” Minaj added.
The summit featured a wide-ranging lineup of speakers, including Senator Ted Cruz, entrepreneur Kevin O’Leary, and several economic policy advocates. Minaj’s presence stood out as one of the most high-profile celebrity appearances at the government-backed event.
Beyond political endorsement, the rapper connected her involvement to the program’s broader mission of generational wealth building. She described the Trump Accounts initiative as “the true meaning of paying it forward,” emphasizing the importance of early financial opportunity for children.
Minaj also announced a personal financial commitment tied to the initiative. According to remarks made during her speech, she plans to contribute between $150,000 and $300,000 to help fund Trump Accounts for newborn children of her fans, known collectively as the Barbz. She cited motherhood as a major influence behind the decision, referencing her own son and her desire to see more families benefit from early financial support.
