Offset has opened up about life after losing his cousin and Migos bandmate Takeoff, sharing emotional reflections on their bond, creative journey, and the future of the group. Appearing on Baby, This Is Keke Palmer, the rapper spoke candidly about the deep grief he still carries and the role Takeoff played in keeping Migos united.

When asked by host Keke Palmer about the possibility of a Migos reunion with Quavo, Offset offered an honest and heartfelt response. “I’m trying to reach those heights as Migos did — but as a solo act,” he said. “I love my creative freedom.”

He then admitted that while he still has love for Quavo, the dynamic between them will never be the same without Takeoff. “It could never be the same without my boy,” he continued. “’Cause he was the glue the whole time. He just kept us as one.

Takeoff, born Kirsnick Khari Ball, was tragically shot and killed in Houston in November 2022. His passing deeply affected both Offset and Quavo, who took a step back from music in the months that followed. Though the two reunited briefly to perform in his honor at the 2023 BET Awards, both have since focused on solo careers.

Offset, who released two albums in the past three years — Set It Off (2023) and Kiari (2025) — admitted on the podcast that he still struggles with guilt. “I feel guilty sometimes,” he said. “Like maybe I could’ve done more, or been there more. But he was always that calm one — the balance between us.

He added that while he and Quavo remain on good terms, they’ve chosen to follow separate creative paths for now. “I love Quavo,” Offset said. “I think it’s just better for us to be on our own different things. We could come back to something — maybe a couple years from now.”
