Olivia Rodrigo is once again dominating the UK charts. Her latest single, “The Cure,” has debuted at No. 2 on this week’s Official Singles Chart, earning the highest new entry of the week and securing her 10th UK Top 10 hit in the process.
The track arrives as the second single lifted from her upcoming third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, which is set for release in June. With the debut, Rodrigo extends one of the most consistent hit streaks of her generation, landing her second consecutive top-two single following the chart-topping success of “Drop Dead” earlier this year.
Released on May 22, “The Cure” has quickly emerged as another commercial force in Rodrigo’s current album campaign. The song debuted at No. 1 on Spotify’s Daily Global chart with 7.215 million streams, becoming her second global chart-topper of 2026.
Its UK performance follows “Drop Dead,” which made an immediate impact when it opened at No. 1 on the Official Singles Chart following its April 17 release. That debut marked Rodrigo’s fourth UK chart-topper, following “Drivers License,” which spent six weeks at the summit in 2021, “Good 4 U,” which led for five weeks that same year, and “Vampire,” which topped the chart for one week in 2023.
Keeping Rodrigo from another chart crown is Sam Fender and Olivia Dean’s “Rein Me In,” which secures a 13th non-consecutive week at No. 1. Elsewhere in the top tier, Zara Larsson continues her own chart resurgence following her widely praised performance at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Sunderland. “Lush Life” climbs to No. 7, while “Midnight Sun” rises to No. 8, giving the Swedish pop star two simultaneous Top 10 singles.
The week also brought major movement on the albums chart, where Maisie Peters claims her second consecutive UK No. 1 with Florescence.
