This week’s New Music Friday saw exciting releases across multiple genres, from rap to country. Following her breakthrough in 2024, Grammy winner Chappell Roan returned with her new single, “The Giver”—her first release since “Good Luck, Babe!” The song marks a shift toward country influences, though the 27-year-old singer reassured fans that she isn’t leaving behind her signature pop sound.

In hip-hop, Playboi Carti took the spotlight with his long-awaited album, “Music” (also known as “I Am Music”). The record, which has been in the works since 2021, faced multiple delays—including a last-minute three-hour postponement before release. Meanwhile, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco unveiled “Sunset Blvd” as the third single from their upcoming joint album, “I Said I Love You First.” The song follows “Scared of Loving You” and “Call Me When You Break Up.” Additionally, Lil Nas X kicked off his new era with the release of multiple tracks, including “Dreamboy.”
