Sienna Spiro has scored a fan-voted victory this week as her new single “The Visitor” topped InMusic’s Best New Release poll on X, finishing ahead of new tracks by Kacey Musgraves and Noah Kahan. The emotionally charged ballad captured 34% of the vote, narrowly edging out Musgraves’ “Dry Spell,” which followed with 32%.
The poll reflects a tight race among several high-profile releases from the latest New Music Friday. Kahan’s reflective single “Porch Light” secured third place with 25%, while Jack Harlow’s surprise album Monica finished fourth with 9%.
“The Visitor” continues to build momentum for Spiro. The 20-year-old British singer-songwriter is emerging as one of pop’s biggest new voices. “The Visitor” arrives as the follow-up to her breakout track “Die On This Hill.” The haunting piano-led ballad reflects on impermanence in relationships.
The release also coincides with her sold-out North American run, the Visitor Tour, which has rapidly expanded her profile beyond the United Kingdom. Launched in Francisco earlier this month, the tour visited major cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, Washington DC, Philadelphia, and Boston.
Competition in the poll remained strong. Musgraves’ “Dry Spell,” released March 11, serves as the lead single from her upcoming sixth studio album Middle of Nowhere, due May 1. Meanwhile, Kahan’s “Porch Light” previews his fourth album The Great Divide, scheduled for April 24 and produced alongside Aaron Dessner.
Even Harlow’s genre-shifting project entered the conversation. Monica, released March 13 on his 28th birthday, marks a pivot toward smooth R&B and jazz influences across nine tracks.
