Spotify has revealed its five Songs of Summer 2026, with Ariana Grande, Ella Langley, Sam Fender and Olivia Dean, Shakira and Burna Boy, and Yung Miami representing the tracks that defined the season.
The final list was selected by Spotify’s global music editorial team using a combination of streaming data, cultural impact and editorial expertise. The result spans pop, country, hip-hop, Latin and Afrobeats, reflecting the wide range of music that dominated listeners’ playlists between May and August.
Ariana Grande’s “hate that i made you love me” takes the top streaming honor after becoming Spotify’s most-streamed song of Summer 2026. Released on May 29 as the lead single from her eighth studio album Petal, the track debuted at No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Chart and spent 22 days at the summit. It remained inside the Global Top 10 for 89 days.
Its summer run also coincided with Grande’s Eternal Sunshine Tour, where the song became part of the live set and gained another platform in front of audiences around the world. By August, its momentum had helped Ariana Grande reach 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify for the first time.
Spotify’s final Songs of Summer 2026 list places Grande alongside Ella Langley, Sam Fender and Olivia Dean, Shakira and Burna Boy, and Yung Miami. Rather than ranking the five tracks against one another, Spotify listed them alphabetically by artist first name, presenting them as different snapshots of the season’s listening habits.
Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” became another major streaming force, spending 70 days at No. 1 in the U.S. and 98 days on Spotify’s Global Top 50. The country hit also became one of the most-streamed songs in the U.K. during the summer, extending its reach well beyond the genre’s traditional American audience.
Sam Fender and Olivia Dean’s “Rein Me In” dominated the U.K. and Ireland, spending 75 days at No. 1 in both markets. The collaboration also reached No. 63 on Spotify’s Global Chart on Aug. 7, helped by its festival-ready chorus and a high-profile live performance during the summer.
Shakira and Burna Boy brought an international dimension to the list with “Dai Dai,” the official song of the world’s biggest soccer tournament. The track spent 37 days at No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Chart and topped charts in 17 countries, while its biggest streaming day arrived July 20, one day after the tournament final. It also became Spotify’s most-streamed music video of the summer.
Rounding out the list, Yung Miami’s “Spend Dat” emerged as one of Summer 2026’s biggest hip-hop breakthroughs. A viral dance helped push its daily streams up more than 200%, with the song reaching its global streaming peak on July 25. Yung Miami’s monthly Spotify audience subsequently jumped from 1.6 million listeners in May to 6.3 million in August.
