Two months after unveiling the artwork for his highly anticipated sixth studio album, The Weeknd has officially announced the release date for Hurry Up Tomorrow. As speculated by fans, the album will arrive on January 24, 2025. The timing aligns with his previous release schedule, as Dawn FM also debuted in January, back in 2022. With this sixth project, the Canadian superstar plans to conclude the trilogy that began with 2020’s record-breaking After Hours.

Released under XO and Republic Records, Hurry Up Tomorrow will be accompanied by a psychological thriller film of the same name, produced by The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye) and starring Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan. Thus far, three singles from the album have been unveiled: “Dancing in the Flames”, “Timeless” featuring Playboi Carti, and “São Paulo” featuring Anitta. While the full tracklist remains undisclosed, The Weeknd previewed several new tracks during a special one-night concert in São Paulo, Brazil. Among these were “The Crowd,” “Wake Me Up,” “Take Me Back to LA,” “Run Away,” “Regular,” and “In Heaven.”
When announcing the album, The Weeknd shared a teaser for the LP, featuring a message in which he references his previous albums, After Hours and Dawn FM:
“Yesterday was fourteen years ago… We held our breath, falling into a shimmering sea in the after hours of the night… Attempted to cleanse the wounds with melodies and lights, a bulletproof bandage to shield what lies beneath. In a place where the seasons never changed, where time ceased to exist. But therein lies the problem. Today has felt like an endless spin. I keep distorting the truth, immune to the dizziness, numb to the nausea. What lies beneath—screams in silence. I look in the mirror and feel both old and new, stuck in limbo and unable to move. I still haven’t faced myself. More songs could help, but what do I have left to say? Woe is me in my gilded cage, right? The very thing that once made me invincible failed me on the world stage. A new trauma surfaced, opening floodgates. A new path awaits. When today ends, I’ll discover who I am. HURRY UP TOMORROW.”
