Young Thug has finally broken his silence on several key moments from his recent experiences. In a new interview with GQ, the Atlanta rapper responded to Kendrick Lamar name-dropping him on the viral track “Not Like Us.” The song, released a year ago amid the infamous beef between Lamar and Drake, went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year, earning five Grammy Awards. Thug’s name appeared alongside those of Lil Baby, 21 Savage, Quavo, and 2 Chainz. Here’s the line: “Thug made you feel like you a slime in your head (Ayy, what?).” When asked about Kendrick’s mention of him in the diss track aimed at Drake, Thug briefly replied, “I don’t know what that was about,” adding, “But you know I’m a Drake fan.”

The GQ interview also touched on his relationship with Gunna, once considered one of Thug’s closest collaborators and a core part of the Young Stoner Life (YSL) label. Since Thug’s legal battles and release from jail in late 2024, rumors have swirled about a falling out between the two. “I know everyone wonders that… I don’t know,” Thug said when asked directly about Gunna.
This interview comes as Young Thug prepares for a major return to the spotlight. His upcoming album, UY Scuti, is expected this summer, and he’s already made a comeback with the release of “Money on Money” featuring Future, out today, April 26. The accompanying video’s use of a burning YSL logo has only added to speculation that Thug may be distancing himself from his former label identity.
