Young Thug weighs in on the rap game’s most debated question: Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar. Appearing on streamer Adin Ross’ live broadcast, the Atlanta rapper gave his take on both artists’ legacies, while also sharing his thoughts on Kanye West, NBA YoungBoy, and his own upcoming music.
When asked to compare Drake and Kendrick Lamar, Thug didn’t hesitate to side with the Toronto superstar. “I gotta say Drake,” he said. “He just did more, he put more people on… and he got more numbers. Numbers-wise, statistically, impact on the culture, impact on the world.”
Still, Thug acknowledged Lamar’s place in hip-hop history. “Kendrick is the GOAT of the whole West Coast—well, I don’t know, I’d probably say Nipsey, but numbers-wise [it’s Drake].”

The comments come more than a year after Lamar’s viral diss track “Not Like Us,” which took aim at Drake during their 2024 feud and briefly mentioned Thug by name. At the time, Thug told GQ he didn’t understand the reference but admitted: “I’m a Drake fan.”
In the same stream, Thug praised Kanye West, declaring him the greatest of all time. “Ye is the GOAT of all GOATs,” he said, adding that West is often “misunderstood.” The 34-year-old rapper also offered high praise for another artist of the new generation, NBA YoungBoy, calling him the “Michael Jackson of the new school.”
Beyond giving his opinions on rap’s biggest stars, Thug also used the moment to share news with his fans: a deluxe edition of his new album, UY Scuti, will drop later this week. The original project, released last Friday, is projected to debut at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 with around 48,000 units. It features a stacked guest list, including Cardi B (“On The News”), Travis Scott (“Pipe Down”), and Future (“Money On Money”). Additional appearances come from 21 Savage, T.I., Sexyy Red, Ken Carson, and YFN Lucci.
