Zara Larsson is leaving the door open for a future collaboration with Demi Lovato. Speaking with Hits Radio UK, the Swedish pop star addressed recent fan speculation and admitted that while the pairing didn’t happen this time, she would still love to work with Lovato down the line.
“There was a lot of talk about if she was going to be on the remix album or not,” Larsson said. “But the thing is, life is long. I hope my career will be long. I think there could definitely be a possible collaboration in the future with Demi.”
The comments arrive weeks after the release of Midnight Sun: Girls Trip, Larsson’s first remix album, which expanded on her successful 2025 studio album Midnight Sun with an all-female roster of collaborators. Fans had speculated that Lovato might appear on the project before the official guest list was unveiled, making Larsson’s latest remarks the clearest acknowledgment yet that conversations surrounding the idea had circulated.
Instead, Girls Trip featured an impressive lineup including PinkPantheress, Kehlani, JT, Emilia, Eli, Shakira, Tyla, Madison Beer, Robyn, Bambii, Malibu, Helena Gao, and Margo XS, with each artist bringing a fresh perspective to tracks from the original album.
The project arrived during one of the strongest commercial periods of Larsson’s career. Following the release of Midnight Sun, she gained renewed momentum in the United States after opening for Tate McRae’s Miss Possessive Tour and launching her own Midnight Sun Tour. The album’s title track reached No. 39 on the Billboard Hot 100, while “Stateside,” her collaboration with PinkPantheress, broke into the chart’s top 10. Even Larsson’s 2015 breakout hit “Lush Life” experienced a resurgence, re-entering the Billboard Hot 100 and climbing to No. 35.
