Jhené Aiko has added a new twist to Westside Whimsy, making a bonus track available exclusively through iTunes for a limited time. The singer announced the release on social media, inviting her SoulMates to go “Elsewhere” with “Westside Whimsy (bonus track)” following the album’s surprise arrival last week.
Aiko shared the news with fans after Westside Whimsy was released September 11 through ArtClub International and Def Jam Recordings. The digital bonus track is currently positioned as a limited-time iTunes offering, meaning fans looking to hear the additional song will need to purchase the expanded version rather than simply finding it on the standard streaming edition.

The move comes just days after Jhené Aiko returned with her fourth studio album, marking her first full-length release in six years. Westside Whimsy follows Chilombo, which arrived in March 2020, and was announced with little advance notice on September 8, only three days before its official release.
The 20-track project features a wide range of collaborators, including Ab-Soul, Kendrick Lamar, Larry June, Ohma and Tyga. Its sound reflects Aiko’s stated interest in 1990s music while drawing heavily from the West Coast and California culture that shaped her upbringing.
The long gap between albums also gives Westside Whimsy added significance in Aiko’s catalog. Following Chilombo, she had planned the Magic Hour Tour before pandemic-related restrictions forced its cancellation. During her subsequent break from music, she revisited her 2011 mixtape Sailing Soul(s), making the project available across streaming platforms for its 10th anniversary in 2021.
Aiko began formally teasing the new era before the album’s surprise release. She released “Break” on November 18, 2025, later partnered with Erewhon in January 2026 while teasing the album title, and eventually revealed the full project’s tracklist on September 9, one day after announcing the record.
