Eight years ago today, Lana Del Rey released her fourth studio album, ‘Honeymoon.’ The critically acclaimed album was considered one of Lana’s best works at the time.

Here are eight things you might not know about the album:

1. Quick Follow-up

Lana recorded the album shortly after ‘Ultraviolence.’ She began working on the follow-up to ‘Ultraviolence’ just three months after finishing the album. In January 2015, she announced the title of the album and its planned release by the end of that year.

2. Return to Roots

‘Honeymoon’ marked a return to the sounds of her first albums. While ‘Ultraviolence’ had explored a more guitar-based sound, Lana decided to return to the baroque pop style of ‘Born To Die’ and ‘Paradise’ for this album.

3. Billboard Chart

Although ‘Honeymoon’ didn’t reach the top spot on the Billboard 200, it made a strong debut at No. 2, selling 116,000 units in its first week.

4. Unused Collaborations

Lana Del Rey and Mark Ronson collaborated during the ‘Honeymoon’ era, but none of their songs made it to the album.

5. Critical Acclaim

‘Honeymoon’ received critical acclaim, with Rolling Stone ranking it at No. 12 and NME at No. 7 in their lists of the best albums of 2015.

6. Runtime

The album has a total runtime of over 1 hour, with ‘The Blackest Day’ being the longest track at 6 minutes and 5 seconds.

7. Billboard Hot 100

‘High by the Beach’ had an interesting debut on the Billboard Hot 100. Billboard initially reported it as debuting at No. 7, but a later update corrected its position to No. 51.

8. Lana’s fifth most streamed album on Spotify

‘Honeymoon’ has garnered over 1.1 billion streams on Spotify.
