BLACKPINK have officially confirmed their long-awaited comeback with a new mini album titled Deadline, setting a release date of February 27. The announcement has immediately reignited global anticipation, marking the group’s first collective release since Born Pink and signaling a refreshed creative direction shaped by time apart and renewed focus.
While details around Deadline remain tightly guarded, the project is expected to include the previously released single “Jump,” which arrived in July 2025 and quickly reaffirmed BLACKPINK’s chart dominance. The track debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S., extending the group’s record as the female act with the most No. 1s on the latter chart. Its success, capped by a Best Digital Song win at the 40th Golden Disc Awards, set a confident tone for what is now unfolding.
Much of what we know so far comes directly from the members. In a recent interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, ROSÉ described the upcoming era as a creative reset. She spoke candidly about how stepping away individually helped the group return with sharper instincts and fresh inspiration. “I am obsessed with ‘Jump.’ I love this new era of BLACKPINK,” she said, hinting at a funkier.
LISA has echoed that sense of anticipation, recently teasing fans with a brief but telling message. “There’s something for you guys coming,” she said, stopping short of specifics while promising more soon.
YG Entertainment previously confirmed that the album was wrapped late last year, with JENNIE, JISOO, ROSÉ, and LISA filming a new music video across October and November. A new single is widely expected to arrive ahead of the album’s release, though no official date has been announced.
As excitement builds, BLACKPINK are also preparing to return to the stage. The final stretch of the Deadline World Tour begins January 16 with three shows in Tokyo, before concluding with a run in Hong Kong from January 24 to 26. With a new album on the horizon and momentum firmly on their side, Deadline is shaping up to be a defining moment in BLACKPINK’s evolving legacy.
