BLACKPINK are hours away from opening a new chapter. Deadline, the quartet’s third Korean EP and fourth overall project, arrives February 27 via YG Entertainment. The five-track release marks their first group project since 2022’s Born Pink and introduces a new global distribution partnership with The Orchard, replacing their previous arrangement with Interscope Records. For fans who have tracked every teaser and tour stop, the countdown now feels tangible.

Below is a complete guide to everything surrounding Deadline.

The Lead-Up: Contracts, Comeback, and Momentum

Speculation around BLACKPINK’s return began in late 2023, when YG confirmed the members had renewed their contracts for group activities. The promise of a new album and world tour followed. In 2024, executive producer Yang Hyun-suk publicly referenced a 2025 comeback plan. By mid-2025, JENNIE, JISOO, LISA and ROSÉ hinted in interviews that studio sessions were underway.

Reports throughout the second half of 2025 suggested shifting timelines. In late 2025, YG Entertainment confirmed that the project had been rescheduled for early 2026. On January 14, 2026, the uncertainty ended. BLACKPINK formally announced Deadline, opened pre-orders, and set February 27 as the release date.

The Singles: “Jump” Sets the Pace

The era effectively began last summer. “Jump,” released July 11, 2025, served as the pre-release single. Distributed through The Orchard, the track debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, becoming the group’s third leader on the chart.

In South Korea, “Jump” peaked at No. 2 on the Circle Digital Chart. In the United States, the single debuted at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking the group’s tenth career entry.

Tonight, “Go” will be released as the lead single alongside Deadline.

A Museum Collaboration First

In a move that underscores their cultural positioning, BLACKPINK partnered with the National Museum of Korea and Spotify for a large-scale installation tied to the EP’s release. From February 27 to March 8, the museum’s exterior will glow pink each evening.

Inside, a listening zone dedicated to Deadline will operate within the “Path to History” section. A pre-listening event is scheduled for tonight. Members have also recorded an audio guide for select artifacts, with JISOO and JENNIE narrating in Korean, ROSÉ in English, and LISA in Thai. It is the first time a K-pop act has undertaken a collaboration of this scale with the institution.

The Deadline World Tour

Before the EP even arrived, the group took it global. The Deadline World Tour launched July 5, 2025, at Goyang Stadium and concluded January 26, 2026, at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong. The all-stadium run included landmark stops such as Wembley Stadium in London — making BLACKPINK the first K-pop girl group to headline the venue.
