SOYEON is taking the release of her debut solo album directly to the streets of Seoul. The i-dle leader will hold a surprise-style guerrilla live performance at Yeouido Mulbit Stage on September 7 at 8 p.m. KST, just two hours after the release of her first solo album, What a Wonderful Life.
The pop-up performance is set to give fans an immediate live introduction to the eight-track project, which arrives September 7 at 6 p.m. KST. Rather than waiting for a traditional promotional schedule to unfold, SOYEON will celebrate the album’s arrival with a public performance in one of Seoul’s most recognizable outdoor spaces.

What a Wonderful Life marks SOYEON’s most substantial solo release since her 2021 debut EP Windy and represents the next stage of an increasingly self-directed career. The album, titled [끝내주는 인생] in Korean, moves between confidence, humor, romance and more reflective moments, with the tracklist also featuring narration from GaAn84 and a guest appearance by Minsu.
The rollout began with “STAR,” SOYEON’s first solo song in five years. Built around retro synthesizers, crisp percussion and a driving synth bassline, the track offered an early preview of the sound she is pursuing outside of i-dle while reinforcing the rapper, songwriter and producer’s distinctive creative identity.
Several of the album’s titles also point toward the personal nature of the project. “I’m Quitting” opens the record with GaAn84’s narration, followed by “Bankroll” and “icebluerabbit,” a title that references SOYEON’s producer alias.
Her last major solo project, Windy, arrived in July 2021, when SOYEON was already playing a central role in shaping i-dle’s music. In the years since, she has helped write and produce some of the group’s defining songs, including “TOMBOY,” “Nxde” and “Queencard,” while expanding her work through collaborations and production credits.
The guerrilla performance also follows SOYEON’s recent appearance at Waterbomb Sokcho, where she began teasing “STAR” ahead of its release. With the album arriving just hours before the Yeouido show, fans attending the event could hear the new material almost immediately after its official release.
