New Music Friday: Madison Beer, Chris Brown, Charli xcx and More!

Another stacked New Music Friday is arriving tonight, with major releases spanning pop, R&B, and hip-hop just as the summer release calendar begins accelerating. Madison Beer and Chris Brown lead a packed May 8 rollout.

Madison Beer enters the weekend with locket deluxe, an expanded edition designed to extend the breakout success of her third studio album. Announced earlier this week, the deluxe version adds four new tracks: “lovergirl,” “free,” “somehow i got lucky,” and “locket theme (extended).” Among them, “lovergirl” has emerged as the centerpiece of the campaign, arriving simultaneously with a music video featuring NFL quarterback Justin Herbert.

The deluxe arrives only days before Beer launches the Locket Tour on May 11 in Kraków, Poland, kicking off what is expected to be the largest and most concept-driven tour of her career. Commercially, locket already marked a turning point, debuting at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 and becoming her first U.S. top-ten album.

Chris Brown is also returning tonight with BROWN, his 12th studio album and one of the week’s most anticipated R&B releases. The rollout has leaned heavily into nostalgia, particularly through a black-and-white trailer set inside the fictional “House of Brown,” where live instrumentation and vintage soul-club visuals frame the project’s aesthetic direction.

Feature names alone position the album as one of the broadest crossover releases of the month. NBA YoungBoy, Bryson Tiller, Vybz Kartel, GloRilla, Leon Thomas, Sexyy Red, Lucky Daye, Fridayy, and Tank are all confirmed contributors.
