April 17 delivers one of the busiest release days of 2026 so far, marking the start of a weekend filled with new music and additional live performances from Coachella.
Olivia Rodrigo leads the conversation with “Drop Dead,” the first single from her third studio album You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love. Produced by Dan Nigro and co-written with Amy Allen, the track launches an era framed as her most “varied” to date. The Grammy-winning pop star returns to a more pop-driven sound following the rock-influenced Guts. Thematically, she moves away from the “sad songs” style of her first two albums toward a more joyful project. In interviews, she said, “I was living a lot of joy in my life, and I wanted to understand how to inject that into the songs I was making.”
A full-length album arrives from Zayn, who releases his fifth studio album Konnakol. The 15-track project expands beyond the stripped-back tone of 2024’s Room Under the Stairs, incorporating global rhythmic structures inspired by the South Indian vocal percussion tradition that gives the album its title. Previously released singles “Die for Me” and “Sideways” sit alongside new cuts including “Used to the Blues” and “Side Effects,” both highlighted by the singer in recent interviews.
Meanwhile, Anitta returns with EQUILIBRIVM, her seventh studio album and a trilingual release spanning Portuguese, Spanish, and English. Issued through Republic Records, the project blends funk carioca, samba, and reggae, while featuring appearances from Shakira, Luedji Luna, and Rincon Sapiência.
On the catalog side, Rosalía expands her critically acclaimed Lux era with Lux Deluxe, a digital reissue that makes all 18 tracks available on streaming platforms for the first time. Originally released in November 2025 with select songs exclusive to physical editions, the updated version consolidates the project’s full scope.
Elsewhere, Tyla and Zara Larsson join forces on “She Did It Again,” a high-energy collaboration expected to appear on Tyla’s upcoming album A-Pop. Built on her signature blend of amapiano-influenced pop and Larsson’s polished vocal delivery, the track arrives after a teaser campaign that generated strong traction across social platforms.
Noteworthy releases also come from Lana Del Rey, Sexyy Red, Sombr, Demi Lovato, The Kid Laroi, Kacey Musgraves, Adéla, Lewis Capaldi, Miley Cyrus, Not For Radio, and more.
