Olivia Rodrigo is giving fans another glimpse into her upcoming third studio album. Just days before You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love arrives on June 12, the singer shared a new lyric teaser featuring the line: “And if there is a god, he’s the bond that’s between us two.”
The brief preview immediately fueled speculation about the themes and emotional direction of the project, which has already emerged as one of the most anticipated album releases of 2026.
The latest teaser arrives during a particularly busy week for the singer. On Monday, June 8, Rodrigo unveiled a limited-edition lenticular vinyl version of You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, adding another collectible release to an album campaign that has steadily gained momentum over the past several months.
Interest surrounding the project continues to reach new heights ahead of release day. According to Spotify’s Countdown Page metrics, the album has accumulated nearly 4 million pre-saves, making it the most pre-saved upcoming release currently available on the platform. The figure underscores the enormous anticipation surrounding Rodrigo’s first full-length project since 2023’s GUTS.
Excitement intensified even further last weekend when Rodrigo made a surprise appearance at Primavera Sound 2026 in Barcelona. The unannounced June 6 performance quickly became one of the festival’s biggest talking points, drawing a massive crowd despite competing against several major acts elsewhere on the lineup.
During the roughly 50-minute set, Rodrigo blended established hits with material from the forthcoming album, offering fans an early look at the new era. One of the night’s most significant moments came when she debuted “what’s wrong with me,” a collaboration with Robert Smith of The Cure. The performance marked the first official collaboration of Rodrigo’s career and generated widespread attention across social media.
The album campaign has already produced strong commercial results. Released on May 22, “The Cure” debuted at No. 2 on the UK Official Singles Chart and opened at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track also launched at No. 1 on Spotify’s Daily Global Chart with 7.215 million streams, becoming Rodrigo’s second global streaming chart-topper of 2026.
In April, Rodrigo kicked off the You Seem Pretty Sad Girl era with the lead single “Drop Dead,” which debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100 and earned the biggest Spotify debut of 2026 for a female artist.
