BTS’ long-awaited return is gathering momentum, and anticipation around their upcoming album ARIRANG reached new levels after Diplo shared high praise. Speaking in a recent interview with TMZ, the veteran producer described the record as the “craziest album ever,” adding that its impact could be seismic once it reaches the public.
Diplo, whose career spans more than three decades across pop, electronic, and global music scenes, emphasized the significance of collaborating with BTS at this stage in their journey. He said he felt “lucky” to be trusted by the group and suggested the material they are creating together has the potential to “shock the world.” While details about the album remain tightly controlled, his comments reinforce the sense that ARIRANG represents more than a standard comeback.
“They’re so hands-on. They’re so creative, I can’t believe it,” Diplo said before singling out Jungkook. “Jungkook? No autotune, perfect voice. They’re funny as hell, they rap, they do everything. They’re like the real deal.”
ARIRANG carries particular weight for BTS and their global audience. Scheduled for release on March 20, 2026, the album marks the group’s first full-group Korean-language studio project since before their hiatus for mandatory military service. It is their fifth Korean studio album and tenth overall.
While the album’s rollout—concept visuals, teasers, and more—is expected to begin soon, the release will not arrive alone. Netflix recently announced BTS: THE RETURN, a documentary chronicling the making of ARIRANG, set to premiere worldwide on March 27. Ahead of the film, the platform will exclusively stream BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG on March 21 from Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Square.
