Cardi B returned to the Saturday Night Live stage with her signature confidence and high energy. Appearing as the musical guest on the January 31 episode—the 1,000th in the show’s history—hosted by Alexander Skarsgård in his SNL debut, the Grammy-winning rapper delivered two sharply contrasted performances. It marked Cardi’s second appearance on the long-running NBC series, seven years after her breakout 2018 debut, when she performed tracks from Invasion of Privacy.
This time, the context was different. Cardi is no longer introducing herself. Instead, she used the platform to expand her sophomore album, Am I the Drama?. Opening with “Bodega Baddie,” Cardi offered the song’s first live television performance, backed by a live band that leaned into Dominican musical textures.
Her second set shifted the atmosphere entirely. “ErrTime” arrived in stark black-and-white lighting, built around tension and physicality. A troupe of male dancers filled the stage with acrobatic choreography.
The SNL appearance also functioned as a strategic lead-in to Cardi’s upcoming Little Miss Drama Tour, which launches February 11 in Palm Desert, California. Brief but memorable, she also made a surprise cameo in the sketch “Immigrant Dad Talk Show.”
