Despite the chatter, Camila was more concerned about her personal connection with Charli XCX, given their shared history in the music industry. Their friendship dates back to 2018 when both served as opening acts during Taylor Swift’s Reputation tour.

In her chat with The Independent, Camila recounted how Charli XCX reached out to her directly to clear the air: “She [Charli] called me and was like, ‘Hey, I hope you don’t think that I’m actually mad. This is me playing into the Brat era.’” Camila appreciated the gesture, acknowledging Charli’s playful approach: “And I totally respect that, you know?” Camila further emphasized that their friendship remained intact despite the comparisons, telling the magazine that her biggest concern was about their friendship and mutual respect.
