In her recent interview with The New York Times, Doja Cat reflected on her creative reset after 2023’s Scarlet. She described that album as an experiment, admitting, “It was a bit of like, I just need to get this out — it was a massive fart for me.” While she enjoyed performing it live, she explained that Scarlet didn’t fully satisfy her, which pushed her to reconnect with the vibrant, polished sound she had been “perfecting in the beginning.”

That shift is already clear with Vie’s lead single, “Jealous Type,” produced by Jack Antonoff. Released August 15, the track blends retro-pop melodies with sleek modern production. It debuted at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 and scored the biggest Spotify debut of 2025 for a female rapper, signaling a strong start for the album cycle.

Alongside the album, Doja Cat has announced the Tour Ma Vie world tour, beginning November 18 in Auckland, New Zealand. The tour will mark her first global trek since the Scarlet era.
