Ella Langley continues rewriting the record books. Her breakthrough hit “Choosin’ Texas” spends a 14th non-consecutive week atop the Billboard Hot 100, matching one of the most prestigious records ever achieved by a female solo artist.
The country smash is now tied with Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” (1992–93) and Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together” (2005) as the longest-running non-holiday No. 1 by a female solo artist with no male-billed acts. According to Billboard’s latest Hot 100 update, the song has officially joined an exclusive group that has remained untouched for decades.
“Choosin’ Texas” first reached No. 1 in February and has maintained an extraordinary grip on the chart ever since. Among songs credited solely to women, only Carey’s perennial holiday classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has spent more time at the summit, with a record 22 weeks accumulated across multiple holiday seasons.
The updated ranking of the longest-running No. 1 hits by female acts places “All I Want for Christmas Is You” first, followed by the three-way tie between “Choosin’ Texas,” “We Belong Together,” and “I Will Always Love You,” each with 14 weeks. Behind them sits Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine” with 13 weeks, followed by Destiny’s Child’s “Independent Women Part I” and Toni Braxton’s “Un-Break My Heart,” both with 11.
The latest Billboard Hot 100 also featured movement elsewhere in the top 10. Stella Lefty earned her first career top-10 hit as “Boston” surged to No. 6, while Olivia Dean celebrated another major career milestone when “So Easy (To Fall in Love)” reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Radio Songs chart, continuing its strong run inside the Hot 100’s top tier.
