JEON SOMI is officially back. On July 20, the singer-songwriter and K-pop star announced her highly anticipated second EP, Chaotic & Confused, which is set for release on August 11, 2025, at 6 PM KST via The Black Label. Along with the announcement, she revealed two cover artworks that hint at the duality of the upcoming project.

The first cover shows Somi in a soft, vulnerable moment—blonde hair tousled, a delicate tiara placed above her eyes, as if shielding herself from view. The second cover contrasts that vulnerability with striking intensity: a black-and-white image of Somi crouched in a powerful stance, wearing a sharp, monochrome outfit with lace-up boots.

This announcement comes just weeks after the release of her comeback single “EXTRA” on July 7. The disco-tinged pop track explored themes of alienation and identity, marking a bold step away from the high-teen glam of her earlier eras. “EXTRA” marked Somi’s first musical offering of 2025—and her first in almost a year, as the previous one, “Ice Cream,” was released in July 2024.

Somi’s last full project was the 2023 mini-album Game Plan, which earned praise for its lead single “Fast Forward,” a song that charted strongly in Korea and sparked a viral dance trend. Her debut studio album XOXO (2021) introduced hits like “Birthday” and “Dumb Dumb,” establishing her as one of K-pop’s most charismatic soloists.
