Kacey Musgraves is heading back to the desert. The Grammy-winning artist has been added as a surprise act to Weekend 2 of Coachella 2026, with a scheduled set on Saturday, April 18, at 3:00 PM on the Mojave Stage.
The late addition fills a slot previously occupied by Jack White during Weekend 1 (April 10–12), continuing the festival’s recent trend of last-minute lineup shakeups. Musgraves’ return marks her first Coachella appearance since 2019.
Timing plays a key role. Her upcoming album Middle of Nowhere is set to arrive on May 1, making the Coachella performance a perfect opportunity to preview new material live. The 13-track project follows 2024’s Deeper Well, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and produced standout cuts like “Too Good to Be True” and “Cardinal.” Its centerpiece, “The Architect,” went on to win Best Country Song at the Grammy Awards.
Musgraves officially kicked off the new era on March 11, when she announced the LP and released the lead single “Dry Spell,” offering a first glimpse into the project.
